Mrs. Gail Christmas: Mrs. Christmas serves the BFUHS students as a CFG/ Title 1 Reading Specialist and has over 25 years teaching experience in areas such as elementary education, school counseling, special education, and reading and language arts. Mrs. Christmas is a key member of the BFUHS Freshman Academy. She received her BS from Castleton State College as well as graduate credits through UVM, Keene State College and Castleton. Her interests include reading
(especially historical fiction), genealogy, identifying and restoring old photographs, traveling (has visited more than 20 countries) and spending time at the ocean. |
Mrs. Katheryne Emond: After graduating from Brattleboro Union High School, Mrs. Emond went on tour with the Young Americans, a musical performance outreach group based in southern CA. She studied massge therapy in Pria da Luz Portugal, before pursuing her Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in secondary education. She graduated from Salem State College after a semester abroad. Mrs. Emond recently received her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Keene
State College. She is the coach of the BFUHS Drama Club and the English Department's representative to the BFUHS Freshman Academy Team. |
Mrs. Holly Falzo, Dpt Coordinator: Mrs. Falzo, a graduate of BFUHS, returned to BFUHS in 1986 to teach English. She has a BA in Secondary English from Trinity College of Vermont as well as a Masters of Arts for Teahers of English and other credits from Keene State College. She is interested in Media Literacy and Public Speaking training. Mrs. Falzo presently serves as coordinator of the English Department, secretary/ treasurer for the WNESU Teacher’s Licensing Board and special
helper to the BFUHS Student Council. In her “free time” she is an adjunct faculty member at Keene State College. Much to Mrs. Falzo's surprise, she was named the UVM 2008 High School Teacher of the Year for the Windham Northeast Supervisory Union. |
Miss Andrea Morehouse: Ms. Morehouse graduated from Union College (NY) in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in American history. While studying at Union, Ms. Morehouse went abroad to study anthropology in India and was an active member of the college's growing dance department. In 2012, she earned her Masters of Arts in Teaching
with a concentration in secondary English at Union Graduate College (NY). The summer after graduating from UGC, Ms. Morehouse extended her education by obtaining a certificate in middle childhood education. As a part of her masters work, Ms. Morehouse took on a year-long internship teaching 8th, 9th, and 11th grade English in Niskayuna, NY. In addition to her internship, Ms. Morehouse tied her interests of local history, literature, and creative writing into her Graduate thesis. Besides reading literature, and working on her creative writing pieces, Ms. Morehouse loves modern and lyrical dance, traveling, and watching classic movies.

Mrs. Judy Palmer-Guest: Ms. Palmer-Guest has been teaching for 17 years and this is her eighth year at BFUHS. She earned her undergraduate degree in Speech Communication and Drama at Emerson College and a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in English and Multicultural Education from the School for International Training. She has had many opportunities to teach and study among diverse settings and abroad. She has studied and traveled throughout Europe, Southern
Mexico, Ecuador and Peru. She strives to expose students to the world around them, thus encouraging them to share their own life experiences and explore the diverse cultures of the world through literature and travel. She is a member of the BFUHS Literacy Committee. Not only is Ms. Palmer Guest a committed teacher, she is also a committed wife and mother of two children.

Mrs. Tiffany Tobin: Mrs. Tobin has been teaching English at BFUHS since 1997. She has taught a variety of courses and enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for literature and writing with her students. She earned her B.A. at St. Bonaventure University with a double major in English and Secondary Education and her M.Ed. in Reading Instruction at College of St. Joseph. In addition, she has taken several graduate classes focusing on specific authors and poets. She also serves BFUHS
as a mentor for new teachers. Her interests include reading, traveling, enjoying the outdoors (in all seasons) gardening, traveling and reading. |
